Health food supplier Reformkontor has used HP Indigo digital printing technology to revise the packaging design for its dried fruit range.
In co-operation with Foil print Rako, a company of the All4Labels Group, Thanks to digital printing, processes have been permanently simplified.
Reformkontor GmbH is the most important Supplier for over 1,000 health food stores in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The range includes soft and dried fruit, nuts and oilseeds as well as cereals and pulses.
„Almost 200 items were affected by the packaging relaunch. If we had done this conventionally, the complexity and costs would have been many times higher,“ says Operations Manager Enriko artist. „The production and handling of the printing plates alone would have caused enormous costs and slowed down the process. Digital printing was the only viable option for us.“
The Foils for the bags in the new design has been supplying Folienprint Rako ever since. The Gallin-based company is an established name when it comes to the production of flexible packaging and shrink sleeves. In 2015, the existing range of solutions was expanded and investments were made in digital printing.
„We were enthusiastic about the possibilities of the HP Indigo 20000 and the collaboration with HP right from the start. We were particularly impressed by the high print quality and the various options for individualisation and personalisation“ confirms Doris Erhardt-Freitag, Managing Director of Folienprint Rako.
Quality is also a decisive factor at Reformkontor, including the packaging. The potential through Quality and fineness of the product images, which can be reproduced using digital printing, would also open up additional design options compared to conventional printing processes.
„But the basics were also right: The films run reliably on our packaging systems and are available at short notice thanks to film printing,“ says Artists.
