The takeover of Hubergroup by MAVCO Investments and Avenue Capital Group has been finalised. With a strengthened management team and a clear strategic focus, the speciality chemicals and printing solutions provider is entering a new era of global growth, according to the Kirchheim-based company.

Hubergroup, a global provider of speciality chemicals and printing solutions, has officially completed the change of ownership announced in November 2024. A consortium consisting of MAVCO Investments - owned by members of the Indian Murugappa family of entrepreneurs - and a fund of Avenue Capital Group will acquire all shares with effect from 8 April 2025. All regulatory approvals in the relevant markets have been granted.

The new owners are focussing on long-term investments in innovation, infrastructure and talent to further drive the transformation and global growth of Hubergroup.

Strategic focus on speciality chemicals and print solutions

Under the new structure, the Hubergroup will further expand its market position in both core areas:

Change at the top of the company

Premal A. Desai, previously CFO of the Hubergroup, will assume overall responsibility for the company as the new CEO. During the transition period, he will continue to fulfil the role of CFO until a successor has been found. He will be supported by an extended Management Board.

Thanks to outgoing Head of Transformation

The previous owners and the new management recognised the work of Britta Hübner, who as Chief Transformation Officer made a significant contribution to the successful realignment and handover. She is leaving the company, but will remain associated with the Hubergroup as an external consultant.

Positioning for the future

With production sites in India and Europe and a presence in all key regions of the world, the Hubergroup is strategically well positioned. The company will be celebrating its 260th anniversary in 2025.
