Packaging machine specialist Hugo Beck receives the „TOP 100“ award for the most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany for the fourth time and impressed with its achievements in the field of sustainable packaging solutions.

Packaging machine specialist Hugo Beck receives the "TOP 100" award for the most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany for the fourth time. The manufacturer of horizontal film and paper packaging machines impressed the jury with its achievements in the field of sustainable packaging solutions.

After 2006, 2011 and 2016, the innovative strength of the Swabian family business has now been recognised once again. The future trends of sustainability and Industry 4.0 are right at the top of the agenda. For a few years now, a Increased expansion of the portfolio to include paper packaging machines which have been successfully positioned on the market after more than 65 years of core expertise in film packaging.

For example, the desire for more sustainable packaging led to the market launch of so-called Hybrid machines that can pack with as little or very thin film as possible as well as with environmentally friendly paper. These hybrid machines were particularly honoured in the TOP 100 selection process, as they allow customers to make an investment decision without having to commit to the packaging material.

Award for innovative medium-sized companies

A more recent development is the Paper E-Com Fit packaging machine, which is usually Products packaged in uncoated, recyclable paper and paper bags sealed by sewing. This has created a completely new type of packaging on the market, which is particularly popular in the e-commerce and mail order sectors and has been subsidised as an innovation by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

Special emphasis is placed on the question of whether and how innovations and product improvements are successful on the market,

The Award ceremony will take place on 24 June at the German SME Summit in Frankfurt am Main. The innovation competition has been accompanied by science journalist and mentor Ranga Yogeshwar for eleven years.
