BDE and IK provide joint information on recycling at IFAT

In addition to recycling companies, manufacturers of plastic packaging will also be showcasing their products in a jointly realised special area on the subject of plastics. Solutions for the reduction of virgin plastic and less CO2. Eco design, recyclability and the use of recyclates should take centre stage here.

Panel discussion by BDE and IK

In order for the transformation of the plastics industry from a linear economy to a circular economy to succeed, all players must work together to make various adjustments. It is not only the exhibiting companies that will provide an insight into precisely this practice under the motto „Plastics - Too precious to waste“. A panel discussion at the BDE-The main stand is dedicated to the question „One million tonnes of recyclate used in plastic packaging - wishful thinking or (soon) reality?“.

The successes that have already been achieved and the hurdles that still need to be overcome are discussed. BDE President Peter Kurth, the managing director of the plastics processor Pöppelmann, Matthias Lesch, Managing Director of Plastics Europe Germany, Ingemar Bühler, and the Managing Director of Interseroh's research and development company, Manica Ulcnik-Krump. The event will be moderated by IK-Managing Director and circular economy expert Isabell Schmidt.
