IK has a new president

Georg Pescher, Managing Director of Alpla Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, has been elected as the new President of the IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen. In his new role, Pescher wants to advocate for balanced regulation and the promotion of sustainable plastic packaging.

Georg Pescher, Managing Director of Alpla Group for Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, was elected as the new President of the IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen e. V. elected. Pescher has been involved in the association for several years, particularly in the Forum PET beverage bottles. As a qualified engineer for technical healthcare, he has been working at Alpla for 15 years, where he initially worked as a plant manager.

In his new role, Pescher plans to campaign for a fair public Perception of sustainable plastic packaging and in favour of balanced regulation in the interests of climate protection. „The same rules for everyone must be the order of the day,“ he explained in his inaugural speech. According to Pescher, European packaging regulation should become an integral part of the Green Deal and the EU single market, with facts taking centre stage.

Pescher succeeds Roland Straßburger, who held the position for six years. Christian Claes and Hans Bresele were also confirmed in their positions as Vice President and Treasurer respectively at the IK General Meeting.
