At the end of October, glasstec 2024 brought together more than 1,200 exhibitors and 32,000 trade visitors from 121 countries, including numerous representatives from the packaging industry. The focus was on new glass solutions for packaging as well as approaches to the circular economy and decarbonisation.
The glasstec 2024, which took place in Düsseldorf from 22 to 25 October, brought the international glass industry together and offered the packaging industry valuable insights into innovative packaging solutions and technologies. With over 1,200 exhibitors and more than 32,000 trade visitors from 121 countries, the trade fair confirmed its central role as the Platform for glass production, processing and packaging.
Leading companies in the packaging industry showcased a wide range of new glass packaging solutions, which were particularly focussed on Sustainability and design are aligned. The focus was on topics such as digital technologies, the circular economy and decarbonisation, which met with great interest from packaging manufacturers.

One highlight was the „glass technology live“ innovation show, which presented the latest developments in the field of glass packaging, including Resource-saving production processes and recyclable materials. Programme items such as the CircuClarity One and the glass trends sessions offered the packaging industry incentives to take an in-depth look at future-oriented production and recycling processes.
At the special „Handwerk LIVE“ area, manufacturers showcased processing techniques for glass packaging and the variety of craft applications. The high quality and internationality of the trade visitors, around 80 per cent of whom were executives, highlighted glasstec as a platform for the glass industry. interdisciplinary exchange and making new contacts out.
Following the successful trade fair in 2024, the industry representatives are already looking ahead to the next glasstec in 20 to 23 October 2026 in Düsseldorf, where sustainable innovations for the packaging industry are once again expected.
