Increased commitment to sustainability

Gerhard Schubert has been a member of the UN Global Compact Network Germany since August 2024 and is committed to the ten principles of the United Nations.

Gerhard Schubert GmbH has been a member of the UN Global Compact Network Germany since August 2024. The company is thus officially committed to the ten principles of the United Nations in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption.

The Gerhard Schubert GmbH is strengthening its commitment to sustainable behaviour by joining the UN Global Compact Network Germany. As part of this global initiative, the company is committed to implementing the UN's ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. Marcel Kiessling, Managing Director of Gerhard Schubert GmbH, emphasises:

„Sustainability has always been very important to Schubert. Reaffirming our commitment to acting in a more environmentally friendly way is particularly important to us against the backdrop of current global challenges.“

Schubert has already developed a sustainability strategy based on the United Nations„ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with its in-house “Mission Blue" programme. This strategy includes Four central fields of actionsustainable corporate management, climate-neutral production, environmentally friendly machines and sustainable packaging solutions. The company is continuously committed to this, Save energy, for example, through optimised robot movements in its machines.

Schubert is also working on innovative packaging technologies. With „Dotlock“, the company has developed a composite technology for cardboard packaging without glue, which serves as an environmentally friendly alternative.

In addition to further developing its products, the company is also investing in its infrastructure. In September 2023, the company opened a new hall for final assembly at its headquarters in Crailsheim. There, Schubert relies on a combination of a large ice storage tank and a modern photovoltaic system, to operate the buildings in a climate-neutral manner in accordance with the requirements of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (Scope 1 and 2). These measures help to reduce CO₂ emissions and promote the company's climate protection goals in the long term.
