Cognex Corporation has now launched the In-Sight D900 vision system, the first smart camera with deep learning software.

It is the first solution of its kind in the world to work with the Cognex ViDi deep learning software in a industrial-grade In-Sight smart camera is equipped.

The self-contained system was developed to create a Broad spectrum of complex in-line inspection applications including optical character recognition (OCR), assembly verification and error detection.

„Modern manufacturing companies are increasingly turning to deep learning-based image processing in order to Solve tests that are too complicated, time-consuming or costly, to programme them with human inspectors or rule-based image processing. By embedding our ViDi deep learning software into In-Sight vision systems, customers can solve even the most complex visual inspections quickly, easily and cost-effectively.“

Through the Combining the self-learning ability of a human inspector with the robustness and consistency of a vision system In-Sight D900 pushes the boundaries of what can be inspected in factory automation. The system, which can be set up using a small number of sample images, utilises the familiar and user-friendly Spreadsheet platform from Cognex and requires neither a PC nor deep learning skills.

The In-Sight D900 is ideally suited for the Automation of complex testing applications in a range of industries, including automotive, consumer electronics, consumer goods, packaging, food and beverages, medical devices and logistics.
