Greater flexibility in production and consideration for the environment and climate are the key factors in the Ansbach-based label printer's decision in favour of a Xeikon digital printing system.

Not only since the „Fridays for Future“ movement has the Environmental protection is a high priority at InForm Etiketten. When choosing a new printing technology, it became a important decision criterion.

The label printing company from Saxony near Ansbach was not only looking for a technology to expand its production capacities and increase its flexibility. At the same time, the new printing system was to fulfil the call for a sustainable and environmentally friendly production methods meet. For these reasons, InForm Etiketten invested in a CX3, Xeikon's flagship for digital toner printing, in 2019.

„Digital printing is a dimension in itself, because in addition to small print runs from a quantity of 1, it also allows consecutive codes, numbering, address insertion and low set-up costs. Digital printing now also enables high screen gradients - provided you have a state-of-the-art toner printer like ours.“

The company made a conscious decision in favour of digital toner printing rather than an inkjet-based solution: Firstly, the label print shop already works with a Xeikon 3300 system, which means that the machine operators are very familiar with this technology and how to use it.

Secondly, digital toner printing provides a More offset-like and higher quality print image, than would currently be possible with inkjet solutions.

Thirdly, dry toner printing can be used for a Variety of materials can be used. There is no need for specially pre-treated media, as required for inkjet printing.

A fourth advantage is the harmlessness and explicit suitability of the toner when printing labels for the Food industry, a large customer base of InForm Etiketten.

The ever smaller batch sizes in label printing were a fifth reason to strengthen digital printing in-house. Thanks to the short set-up displays InForm Etiketten can meet the demand for small, individualised print runs economically.
