Packaging Innovations, the UK's largest trade show for the packaging supply chain, will take place at the NEC in Birmingham from 21-22 February 2024. Coveris has achieved an innovation in the field of thermoforming film packaging with MonoFlex Thermoform. The solution is a recyclable and sustainable alternative to non-recyclable materials currently used in the food sector. The printed PE packaging films are regranulated into high-quality recycled PE resin, ReGen, which is used as a recycled material in Coveris' film extrusion process and complies with the UK Plastic Packaging Tax.
The company also has major growth plans for its long-established and award-winning recycling centre in the Paper Division in Boston (USA). The centre processes 10,000 tonnes of paper waste annually, both from the company's own production and from customers. The site is strategically located to support the circular economy and reprocess liner and paper waste into packaging products.
