Koenig & Bauer announces a new success. The company has developed the first digital printing press in a line network for metal. The subsidiary Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint enables flexible entry into digital printing with the machine and will test the machine with Reynolds Services at the beginning of 2025.

The basis of the MetJET ONE combines tried and tested components from digital printing and mechanical and plant engineering in metal printing: The sheet handling comes from Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint and thus comes from a proven expert in this field, while the integrated inkjet technology utilises a multi-pass printing unit from Durst, one of the leading players in the digital printing industry.

„The MetJET ONE makes it as easy as possible for our customers to enter the world of digitally printed metal packaging. The unique design allows us to create a customised solution that meets the flexibility and print quality requirements of our customers in the metal packaging industry.“

Thanks to the attractive price-performance ratio and outstanding print quality, the standards in metal decoration are being redefined. The modularity of the MetJET ONE makes it possible to Flexible customisation and design of the entire production line to the individual requirements of the customer and the product. This means that the line can be expanded to include the entire Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint portfolio in addition to the basic units.

The MetalCoat coating machine, the inspection transport for checking the print image (and coating) and the sheet management systems for reliable sheet removal are just some of the possible features with which Maximising efficiency and profitability on the MetJET ONE can be tested. The field test, which will start at RSI at the beginning of next year, is a decisive step towards validating the performance and reliability of the machine under real operating conditions.

„We are delighted to be working with Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint on the new MetJET ONE. We are convinced that with this digital printing solution we are ideally equipped to realise customised prints in very short runs.“
