The Shanghai World of Packaging (swop) will showcase innovations for the packaging industry at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from 18 to 20 November. More than 900 exhibitors and 35,000 visitors are expected at the trade fair.
The swop In 2024, a comprehensive range of Solutions for primary and secondary packaging offer. From packaging machinery, new materials and cutting-edge technologies to innovative designs and packaging solutions, swop 2024 will cover all aspects of packaging needs. The show will feature food processing and packaging machinery, plastic and paper packaging production equipment, primary and secondary packaging equipment, back-end packaging equipment and other intelligent/automated packaging technologies to meet the demand for smart packaging solutions.
In the fully modernised Green Power Zone, a wide range of products will be innovative packaging materials and production systems presented. These include sustainable packaging products, biodegradable materials and packaging, fully biodegradable machines for manufacturing bags, packaging products and systems made from paper-plastic film and systems for manufacturing paper containers. These offers are intended to help companies in this respect, costs, improve efficiency and achieve their low carbon targets.and energy savings. At the same time, a forum and an interactive area will shed light on sustainable packaging trends from different perspectives and create an interactive platform for dialogue within the packaging supply chain.
Intelligent food processing
In 2024, the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology and swop will jointly organise the Food Equipment and Intelligent Manufacturing (Shanghai) Forum. The forum will focus on topics such as visual food analytics, machine learning and food science, intelligent food production, AI and food production, big data computing for food, digital food management and food packaging with artificial intelligence. The forum will bring together food buyers from around the world to discuss the path to innovation-driven development and showcase cutting-edge processing and packaging technologies that help food producers realise smart and automated production and improve food safety.
In response to the global „Save Food“ initiative, which was launched jointly by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Messe Düsseldorf and the interpack was launched, swop 2024 will host a series of events, including the Save Food（China）Forum and the Award ceremony for the Save Food Design Award & Sustainability Design Award China.
In the Food Processing and Intelligent Manufacturing Zone State-of-the-art technologies for food processing and intelligent manufacturing including machines for food processing, general food machinery and intelligent appliances. The focus is on modernising automation, reducing energy consumption, fine management and improving product quality. This area serves not only as an exhibition, but also as an important platform for food manufacturers to achieve intelligent and automated production.
In the „Overseas Business Matchmaking“ session, suppliers and buyers meet for face-to-face discussions in which suppliers can gain a deeper understanding of the buyers' needs and at the same time present their products, technologies and solutions.
