From 12 to 14 November 2019, InPrint Munich, the international trade fair for printing technology for use in industrial manufacturing, will present the latest printing technologies for the production, finishing and personalisation of consumer goods, production parts and packaging. The recently published trade fair preview, now available as a free download, gives a first taste of pioneering printing technologies and market innovations that are currently attracting a lot of attention in the manufacturing industry.

126 Print tech company from 20 countries present Specially developed printing solutions for cost-efficient application of printing inks, liquids and 3D materials to a wide variety of shapes and substrates - true „Game Changer“, with which the manufacturing industry can break completely new ground. The new Online trade fair preview offers quick orientation and a first taste of the many technical innovations, topics and ideas that visitors can discover at the InPrint Munich 2019 can expect.

Print head technology

With the advance of inkjet printing in many industrial sectors, the Print head technology a central theme at InPrint Munich 2019. Leading global manufacturers such as Xaar and FUJIFILM present their comprehensive range of newly developed print head solutions. Seiko Instruments shows a recirculating print head for water-based inks to create special optical or haptic effects. People&Technology specialises in printhead cleaning systems and presents a new digital system for simultaneous testing of printheads and inks. TOSHIBA TEC has developed a compact printing solution with a 600 npi inkjet print head that can print two different colours at 300 npi.

Printing inks

In parallel with the print head technology, the Printing inks continuously improved. There is a constantly growing range of new ink solutions, specially tailored to the respective application. Agfa shows special industrial inkjet solutions for decoration, serialisation, product printing, marking and coding. Tritron presents the latest quality inks for decorative inkjet printing, including water-based and UV/UV LED-based inks. Marabou offers colour formulations according to requirement profiles for printing on metal, plastic, textiles, glass, ceramics, wood or other surfaces. AFFORD INKS offers a wide range of colours for inkjet, screen and pad printing, including water-based or solvent-based inkjet inks (eco-solvent) and latex inks.

Display

Integrating inkjet technology into robotic systems

The increasing use of robotics in industrial manufacturing processes is encouraging manufacturers to tap into new potential and develop new solutions. Integrating inkjet technology into robotic systems. ITW Morlock offers robot-assisted inkjet applications, including specially developed software for communication between the print head and the moving robot arm. Also Global Inkjet Systems (GIS) shows current technological developments in robot-supported digital printing systems. Bergstein Digital offers a high-speed printer for direct mould printing with robotics and other automation.

Optical systems

Optical systems are often neglected, but are at the heart of successfully integrating printing technology into manufacturing processes. Baumer Inspection presents a new inspection system for single-pass printing on sheet material, packaging, textiles and films with variable motifs and different batch sizes. DeCoSystem shows an easy-to-integrate inspection solution that optimises the printing process and leads to less waste. TECHNIGRAF presents the latest UV measurement technology, and KRÜSS shows an innovative optical system for analysing the ink droplets produced by the print head.

Drying and curing systems

Drying and curing systems for rapid curing of inks and paints can significantly speed up production. Phoseon Technology and Armada Trade & Development show new, energy-efficient UV LED curing solutions for low-noise, consistent and scalable curing. Hamamatsu Photonics Germany launches an energy-efficient electron beam source for curing surfaces and thin films. Dr Hönle AG, UV Technology introduces an extremely fast drying solution with intensities of over 18,000 mW/cm².

Smart software

With smart software can be used to manage and optimise industrial printing workflows and automated production processes. ColorGATE Digital Output Solutions presents its comprehensive portfolio for the standardisation and automation of entire production chains with workflow, RIP and colour management solutions for industrial digital printing. CADIS Engineering offers software components for production systems that are perfectly matched to the substrate. Meteor Inkjet introduces new inkjet printhead driver solutions to improve print quality in single-pass systems.

Inkjet technology for 3D printing

Inkjet-based technology for 3D printing are increasingly coming to the fore, particularly in the automotive, aviation and electrical goods sectors. TCS TopoColor Systems shows a high-resolution 3D topology scanner for capturing surface structures for haptic decor printing. ChemStream converts customer-specific material problems into sustainable chemical formulations for 3D printing. PROFACTOR presents 3D printing solutions for multiple layers and materials that enable customised product design and integrated functionalities. relyon plasma shows high-performance plasma systems for better adhesion in 3D printing.
