interpack and the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) have expanded their long-standing cooperation to promote innovation, sustainability and the global exchange of knowledge in the packaging industry. The strategic cooperation includes new projects and initiatives that will contribute to the further development of the industry.

The inerpack, one of the world's leading trade fairs for the packaging industry, and the World Packaging Organisation have announced that they will Further expanding the partnership. The aim is to develop joint projects that promote topics such as the circular economy, resource conservation and sustainability.

One focus of the collaboration will be the organisation of the WorldStar Global Packaging Awards as part of inerpack 2026, which is one of the most prestigious competitions in the industry. In addition, the WPO with its own stand at inerpack as well as in various forums and discussions.

The cooperation also extends to other Events organised by the inerpack alliance, including trade fairs in Asia and Africa. Here, the WPO will actively participate in the Shanghai World of Packaging and pacprocess MEA/Food Africa and contribute to topics such as „Women in Packaging“ and the Save Food Initiative. The Save Food Design Awards and the Sustainability Design Awards recognise particularly innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. The WPO is part of the jury that supports these awards.

The „Women in Packaging“ initiative, which was first launched at inerpack in 2023, will be continued in 2026. The aim is to, To network women in the packaging industry more closely and promote them to management positions.
