Licensing according to the Packaging Act at Interseroh

The Central Agency Packaging Register (ZSVR) has announced an expansion of its inspections. Environmental service provider Interseroh offers companies a quick and easy way to register their packaging.

The Central Agency Packaging Register (ZSVR) has now handed over a total of 2,000 administrative offences to the responsible state authorities for enforcement as part of its control function. The environmental services provider Interseroh, operator of the Dual System Interseroh (DSI), emphasises the simple possibility of complying with obligations as a market participant.

Currently, the companies concerned face fines of up to 200,000 euros. The ZSVR has now announced an extension of the inspections, regardless of the size of the company.

Simple registration

Up to now, the ZSVR has mainly inspected companies that circulate large quantities of packaging. With the expansion of the inspection, the smallest companies are also being targeted. Handling is particularly easy thanks to a Step-by-step instructions as well as through the specially designed Calculation aid.

The new Packaging Act has been in force since 1 January 2019 and obliges retailers and manufacturers to fulfil their responsibility for the packaging they put into circulation. To do so, they must both licence the respective packaging quantities with a dual system such as Interseroh and register them with the ZSVR.
