Shorter distances, more efficiency: At the beginning of this month, Interseroh put its second mobile counting centre (MZZ) for used PET deposit bottles and beverage cans into operation in Zarrentin, east of Hamburg.

In this way, the environmental services provider is meeting the needs of retailers more flexible structures and one optimised logistics against.

„Our customers no longer have to put up with long, inefficient journeys to stationary counting centres to redeem their deposit money. Instead, we bring the mobile system directly to their neighbourhood,“ explains Claus Jüsten, Managing Director of Interseroh Pfand-System GmbH. „This allows retailers to reduce their logistics costs and save on climate-damaging greenhouse gas emissions. We also offer a needs-based, lean solution for the existing quantities.“

The Interseroh MZZ fulfils all the requirements of the Deutsche Pfandsystem GmbH (DPG) and represents a fully-fledged alternative for retailers who do not have their own reverse vending machines and are dependent on external counting centres.

Interseroh's innovative and unique concept on the market: integrated into a lorry with a semi-trailer, the MZZ can be used wherever it is needed. The Modern counting and communication technology records more than 100 empty containers per minute, which are counted, cancelled and compacted on the spot.

„Our first mobile counting centre, which was launched near Oldenburg at the beginning of 2016, is running very successfully and is reliably relieving the burden on retailers in the region. This has encouraged us to expand the system further,“ says Claus Jüsten. „With our investments in an increasingly flexible network for logistics, counting services, recycling and deposit clearing, we have chosen the right response to market developments. We are also helping our customers to implement the most ecologically and economically sensible solution for their business.“

The new mobile system was primarily with regard to sorting performance further developed technically. Coloured and white PET as well as aluminium and tinplate cans no longer end up as a mixed fraction in the press container, but can be collected directly and cleanly separated. This means that an even more efficient and High-quality recycling of raw materials nothing stands in the way.
