Interzero invests in „Simply Reusable“

Sykell secures €4.5 million in additional growth capital for its „Einfach Mehrweg“ system, which offers a sustainable alternative to disposable packaging for to-go food and drinks. In addition to the Rewe Group, Collateral Good Ventures and Interzero are the new main investors.

Sykell secures 4.5 million euros in further growth capital for its „Einfach Mehrweg“ system, which offers a sustainable alternative to disposable packaging for to-go food and drinks. In addition to REWE Group, which is once again investing in the company, Collateral Good Ventures and Interzero are the new main investors.

For consumers, the system is designed to be as user-friendly as the tried-and-tested deposit bottle system. With „Einfach Mehrweg No registration, customer account, app downloads or personal data required. Returning the containers and cups is just as easy as returning deposit bottles via the existing reverse vending machines of participating partners throughout Germany.

Sykell works nationally with food retailers, petrol stations and restaurants. As an integrated „Simply Reusable“ system, the simple full-service reusable solution is of interest to both large retail companies and individual owner-managed catering businesses, which have had to comply with the reusable supply obligation since 1 January 2023. The complete package includes cleaning logistics, clearing and deposit settlement. In February 2023, Sykell announced its strategic partnership with Interzero, the international provider of sustainable circular concepts.

“With our ‚Einfach Mehrweg‘ system, we are pursuing the approach of extending the benefits of the established deposit system for drinks to other product and food categories. Our clear goal is to establish ‚Einfach Mehrweg‘ as the dominant reusable system in Germany. We will use the additional capital to continue to rapidly expand the ‚Einfach Mehrweg‘ range in Germany.“
