Interzero Plastics Recycling gets new CEO

Florian Werner is taking over the position of CEO at Interzero Plastics Recycling and will oversee and drive forward the company's strategic development.

Florian Werner will take over the position of CEO at Interzero Plastics Recycling on 1 December 2022. He replaces Stephan Schwarz, who is moving to ArcelorMittal. Werner will oversee and drive forward the company's strategic development.

His activities will focus on the further expansion of the segment, which is renowned for its innovations in plastics recycling and with over 800,000 tonnes of is recognised as the largest sorting capacity in the industry in Europe. Florian Werner's work will focus on further strategic development and deepening value creation. The measures already initiated to increase the performance and sorting quality of the systems, as well as the Increasing the degree of recycling for plastics - for example for the provision of plastic waste for chemical recycling - are an excellent starting position on which to build. The previous CEO of Interzero Plastics Recycling GmbH, Stephan Schwarz, has left his position at the beginning of 2022 and will move to ArcelorMittal. This step was taken in the course of the Sale of the former ALBA International Recycling metal companies to the steel company in close consultation with Dr Axel Schweitzer.

Florian Werner previously worked for the Swiss technology group OC Oerlikon AG, where he drove its successful turnaround as head of the Materials business unit with locations in the USA, Canada, Germany and China. He has also held various Management position in plant engineering and the metal and steel industry - Among other things, he was Programme Manager at Klöckner & Co SE, Senior Vice President at the management consultancy AlixPartners and at the plant manufacturer and machinery dealer Ferrostaal. Florian Werner studied economics at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena.
