At Fachpack 2025 in Nuremberg, Elried will be presenting the innovative edding compact printer series - an example of how modern labelling can be implemented simply, precisely and in a resource-saving manner.
In industrial labelling, companies are often faced with the challenge of finding reliable, efficient and sustainable solutions - especially in complex production environments. This is precisely where the strategic partnership between edding and Elried comes in. The new edding + elried brand combines Elried's technological expertise with edding's decades of experience in the development of industrial inks. Together they are pursuing a clear goal: Mark it simple - to finally make labelling simple, reliable and sustainable. The result is well thought-out, robust and future-oriented labelling solutions „Made in Germany“, which set standards both technologically and in their application, as they say from Oberhaching.
Ideal for large-format packaging
Whether large-scale packaging customisation, complex protection during wet cleaning or inflexible IT connections - many existing labelling systems reach their limits in everyday use. A typical example from practice: In the food or packaging industry, machines have to be cleaned regularly with high-pressure cleaners. For many companies, this used to mean that printing systems had to be laboriously dismantled or covered before cleaning - an enormous time and cost factor. The latest addition to the edding compact printer series addresses precisely this issue.
With the edding In-line IP67, the printer can remain permanently on the machine - it is completely waterproof with or without the cartridge and certified for immersion to a depth of up to 1 metre. For particularly automated applications such as multi-lane production lines, the edding In-line Pro version offers the option of combining up to four print heads, each with a print height of 25 mm - ideal for large-format packaging or parallel product flows. Complemented by non-toxic edding inks that never dry out, a consistent user interface, modular system architecture and comprehensive IT integration options, the result is a system that solves specific customer problems - and significantly reduces complexity in day-to-day operation, according to the manufacturer.
Two series, one well thought-out system
The edding compact printer product portfolio is divided into two clearly focussed series: The edding In-line series is designed for permanent integration into industrial production lines and, with models such as the edding In-line 12, In-line 25 and In-line Pro, offers high-performance solutions for automated labelling processes - including IP67 protection and comprehensive IT connectivity. The edding Portable series includes mobile printing systems such as the edding portable 12, portable 25 and portable 50, which are ideal for flexible use directly on the product or in changing locations. Both series are based on a standardised technology platform with a consistent user interface - for maximum compatibility and minimum training time.
Sustainability as a product principle
What may seem like a technical detail at first glance is actually part of a consistently sustainable product strategy: The edding compact printers are characterised by their durable design with high-quality full metal housings - developed for years of industrial use, which minimises wear and tear and reduces operating costs in the long term, according to the company from Oberhaching.
Great importance is also placed on conserving resources in production and packaging. The printers work with non-toxic, non-drying edding inks, which produce less waste and solvent emissions while ensuring consistently high print quality. At the same time, CO₂ emissions in the labelling process can be reduced by up to 95 % - without generating additional costs. The usual trade-off between costs and CO₂ reduction no longer applies. Production takes place entirely in Germany - this stands for quality, short supply chains and a further reduced CO₂ footprint. This approach is in line with the edding Group's „profit for“ philosophy, in which economic success always goes hand in hand with social and environmental responsibility.
A strong duo for the future of industrial labelling
With their joint brand, edding and Elried have created a new level of industrial labelling technology - functional, future-proof and sustainable, they say. The edding compact printers are more than just a response to current market requirements: They are a trailblazer for companies that want to make their production processes more efficient, reduce complexity and at the same time make an active contribution to climate protection. For the packaging industry in particular, this opens up new ways of utilising efficiency potential, aligning processes sustainably and fulfilling regulatory requirements in a future-proof manner.
