Mondi is expanding its production capacities at the Bad Rappenau site with a 6 million euro investment in a new corrugator. This modernisation is intended to significantly increase the quality, efficiency and sustainability of packaging production.
The international packaging and paper group Mondi invests around 6 million euros in the modernisation of the corrugator at the Bad Rappenau site. The Modernisation includes all main components of the system as well as new control systems that can recognise production errors at an early stage and correct them automatically. This should improve the quality of the corrugated board produced. Burkhard Vogel, Managing Director of Mondi Bad Rappenau, emphasised that the Investment also to achieve the sustainability goals in the areas of energy consumption and use of raw materials. In addition, the working environment is to be made more attractive with a modern sound insulation and lighting concept.
The new technology is intended to Shorten set-up times, optimise stock levels and ensure a reliable supply chain. The plant is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2025.
