Up to 100 trays per minute: that is the output of the new QX-500 tray sealer from Ishida. The new development offers sealing options from pure sealing, gas flushing, MAP, stretch film and skin pack.
Compared to conventional tray sealers, the QX-500 tray sealer offers 66 per cent more speed and 50 per cent less energy consumption. At the same time, the device is so compact that its dimensions are 46 per cent smaller and it weighs 44 per cent less. Users can choose between a variety of sealing options. They can choose between pure sealing, gas flushing, MAP, stretch film and skin pack.
Numerous tray shapes and materials including plastic, cardboard and recyclable paper films are processed. The machine achieves an output of up to 25 cycles per minute with pure sealing, which means an output of up to 100 trays. MAP packaging is produced at a speed of up to 17 cycles per minute, whereby film coding, gas mixing function and vacuum system can be integrated.
Strong sealing, easy handling
The newly developed IntelliSeal system from Ishida guarantees a seal of the highest quality and at the same time allows the end consumer to open the packaging easily. The system continuously measures and optimises the sealing pressure, sealing temperature and sealing time. A new tray feeding and transfer system ensures gentle handling. In this way, a high degree of accuracy is achieved when sealing and the product always remains in the tray. The unique tool changing system enables tools to be changed within five minutes without the need for manual tools.
The QX-500 tray sealer minimises energy consumption and operating costs by using highly efficient servomotors. During production, the appliance automatically monitors power consumption and ensures that it operates at the most energy-efficient setting. The machine is easily accessible for maintenance work.
„Product development initiatives for an existing technology are often based on incremental improvements,“ says Oliver Blaha, General Manager Ishida GmbH. „The QX-500, on the other hand, is completely new in terms of both machine design and functions."
