Jindal Films Europe (JFE), a leading manufacturer of speciality films, is strengthening its European activities with a major investment in its Brindisi (Italy) site. The construction of a new, ten metre wide line marks an important step towards expanding production capacity and technological performance.

The hybrid line supplied by Bruckner is scheduled to go into operation in the second half of 2026. It is designed to process both polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE), enabling the production of a broad portfolio of speciality films - including BOPE Ethy-Lyte, in-mould label, tobacco, label and flexible packaging films. This expansion will make Brindisi one of the largest film production sites in Europe and will supply customers in Europe, America and Asia.

Gilbert Davids, CEO of JFE, explained that the new line is „a cornerstone of our strategy to strengthen our European presence and expand our capabilities with state-of-the-art technology“. The company wants to improve its responsiveness to market demands and further develop sustainable packaging solutions.

The Brindisi site already has modern metallisation and coating technologies that can be used to refine BOPE and BOPP films with high barrier properties (Alox, High Optical Density). Innovative coatings can also be applied to substrates down to 12 micrometres, according to the company. These complementary technologies emphasise JFE's commitment to providing high-performance and reliable film solutions for the global packaging industry.
