Messe Düsseldorf has concluded K 2025 after eight days and can draw a positive balance: Despite the challenging economic situation, 3,275 exhibitors from 66 countries presented innovations along the plastics and rubber value chain; over 175,000 trade visitors from around 160 countries came to Düsseldorf.
The motto of the trade fair was „The Power of Plastics! Green - Smart - Responsible“. According to the organisers, the demand for information and investment discussions was high; numerous innovations were shown for the first time.
Visitor structure and internationality
The K underlined its global claim: 73 per cent of participants travelled from abroad; China (6,300) and India (6,400) were particularly well represented. A total of 10,000 visitors came from the USA and Brazil. The proportion of decision-makers was 67 per cent.
Focus topics and technologies
With the key themes of „Shaping the circular economy“, „Embracing digitalisation“ and „Caring about people“, the trade fair addressed the circular economy, resource efficiency, automation and AI. Mechanical and plant engineering companies showcased live productions, while material manufacturers presented bio-based and recycled materials as well as new additives.
Programme highlights and outlook
The event was characterised by a high level of satisfaction: 95 percent achieved their trade fair objectives; 98 percent rated the range of products and services as excellent or very good. Specials such as „Plastics Shape the Future“, the VDMA forum „The Power of Plastics“, Start-up Zone, Science Campus, Rubberstreet (wdk) and the premiere of „Women in Plastics“ were very well received.
The next K is scheduled for 18-25 October 2028.
