The Supervisory Board of Heinzel Holding has appointed Karl Achleitner (MEng, MBA) as Chief Operating Officer (COO) with effect from 2 September. Achleitner will become a member of Heinzel Group's top management team alongside CEO Sebastian Heinzel.
Karl Achleitner (born 1977) brings extensive industry experience to his new role. He began his career at the Laakirchen paper mill in Austria and trained as a paper technician in the 1990s. From 2002 to 2007, he worked as an assistant to the production manager at PM10 in Laakirchen.
Achleitner's career then took him to the UK (Aylesford Newsprint Ltd. 2007-2011) and Australia (Orora Paper 2011-2018). Most recently (2018-2024), Achleitner was Senior Vice President Operations Paper at Progroup in Germany and was responsible for the company's containerboard machines as a member of the management team at Progroup AG. Achleitner holds degrees in paper technology and business administration.
Heinzel Group produces market pulp, packaging paper and magazine paper at four locations in Europe and trades in pulp, paper, recycled fibres and packaging solutions.
