At the FPE Summer Conference, which took place in Ljubljana at the end of June 2025, Karri Koskela, CEO of Wipak, was unanimously elected as the new Chairman of the European association Flexible Packaging Europe (FPE).

He succeeds Jakob A. Mosser, who has held the office for the past five years. At the same time, Michele Guala was re-elected as Deputy Chairman.

Flexible Packaging Europe (FPE) represents more than 80 companies along the flexible packaging value chain throughout Europe. In an environment characterised by regulatory changes, increasing environmental requirements and market dynamics, the association is continuously expanding its role as the voice of the industry and a platform for cooperation, according to the statement. The election ensures continuity in the strategic direction of FPE and at the same time brings new perspectives for the challenges and opportunities of the future.

Karri Koskela has more than 20 years of international management experience in the packaging industry. As CEO of Wipak and Wihuri Packaging he is closely involved in the development of innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. With his background in environmental and healthcare technology and his strong focus on innovation, growth and sustainability, he will bring valuable expertise to the work of the industry association. His active involvement in industry organisations and supervisory bodies will support the FPE's efforts to effectively represent the interests of the sector at European level.

„I am delighted about the trust placed in me and the opportunity to accompany the association during a phase of significant change in the industry. Together with the member companies, we will continue to strengthen flexible packaging, focussing on the circular economy, innovation and market growth. I would also like to thank Jakob Mosser for his leadership during two particularly challenging and formative periods for our industry - the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing political process around the PPWR. His commitment has made a lasting contribution to the strong positioning of FPE.“
