„As OutNature, we are in close dialogue with our colleagues at Kaufland when it comes to the further development of product packaging. I am delighted that our Silphie paper is being used alongside apples, cress and salmon. is now also being used in the drugstore sector. The natural brownish colouring of our material results from the No chemical bleaching and thus also follows the conviction behind natural cosmetics,“ says Rabea Stradinger, Senior Key Account Manager at OutNature.

Silphie: regionally grown, organically processed

With bevola naturals, another manufacturer of natural cosmetics is using Silphie paper. The material used here is the one developed by OutNature SilphieBoard with 200 to 450 grams per metre2 for folding boxes or banderoles.

The advantages of this packaging: in the biothermal treatment process of the fibres Little water and energy consumed. The fibres are also obtained without the use of chemicals.

In addition to the ecological processing of the fibres, their cultivation also has positive properties: Silphia is a robust, perennial energy crop that cultivated on a large scale in Germany, especially around Lake Constance becomes. This regional cultivation reduces transport routes and the associated CO2-emissions. For farmers, the cultivation of the Silphie plant also offers a sustainable perspective, as it is insect-friendly, absorbs CO2 and protects it from wind and water erosion.
