Kautex Maschinenbau expands at its Bonn headquarters

Kautex Maschinenbau is continuing its growth course. In order to meet the increased demand for the newly developed, all-electric packaging machines and the compact suction blow moulding machines, the production site in Bonn is being expanded and modernised.

Kautex Maschinenbau is continuing its growth course. In order to meet the increased demand for the newly developed, all-electric packaging machines and the compact suction blow moulding machines, the production site in Bonn is being expanded and modernised.

In a new assembly hall With a total area of approx. 5,000m², mainly packaging machines from the KBB series and KSB suction blow moulding machines will be assembled and tested from the third quarter of 2017. In addition, around 80 modern office workstations will also be created. On 15 February, the Official ground-breaking ceremony in the presence of the workforce, the Mayor of Bonn Ashok Sridharan and the District Mayor Guido Déus.

Kautex CEO Dr Olaf Weiland wants to further increase production efficiency with the upcoming plant expansion and thus also reduce delivery times for customers: „Our aim is not only to permanently increase the performance and efficiency of our machines, but also that of our production.“

Ideal conditions at the Bonn site

Thanks to the successful Model policy and a positive market development, the specialist for Extrusion blow moulding machines closed the past financial year with record sales totalling 122 million euros. Weiland believes that the industry will continue to develop positively in the future and is consciously focussing on its headquarters in Bonn, where the company was founded over 80 years ago: „Bonn is located in the heart of one of the most important international regions for the plastics industry. The high density of universities and specialised research institutions offer our innovation-driven industry the best opportunities for development,“ says Weiland. Kautex Maschinenbau operates one of the world's largest research and development facilities for plastics machinery in Bonn with its own technical centre.
