At Fachpack, Kommissionier- und Handhabungstechnik GmbH (KHT) from Gelsenkirchen will be showcasing its MultiScan and CartonScan mobile data capture stations for master data maintenance and sustainable packaging and dispatch management.

„Correct master data is an important prerequisite for Optimise processes along the supply chain and automation processes,“ says Christina Bahlmann, Head of Commissioning and Handling Technology GmbH (KHT). This is especially true in e-commerce, as the item variance is particularly high here. For example, precise dimension and weight information makes it possible to calculate the optimum shipping packaging in each case and thus save on packaging material.

„If you want to act rather than react, there is no getting round a sound database. It opens the door to future-proof packaging and dispatch management.“ Christina Bahlmann, Management KHT

Automatic data collection stations at Fachpack

At this year's Fachpack in Nuremberg KHT two automatic data acquisition stations. The MultiScan, a 3D volumetric measuring device with calibratable scales, records essential article master data at the touch of a button. The sensitive infrared light grid even registers complicated shapes. A wide range of interfaces enable simple data export. The ergonomic MultiScan is available in three sizes and therefore offers different measuring ranges depending on requirements.

The CartonScan will also be presented. The scanning station is specially designed for cuboid items or cardboard packaging measures the article dimensions by ultrasound, The included weighing technology determines the weight in parallel. The data can be easily passed on to CEP service providers for cost-optimised shipping logistics.

Both systems can be equipped with the customisable KHT software. This means that the recording stations can be equipped with useful special accessories such as a camera, a barcode scanner or a precision scale. In addition to the measuring and weighing data also other article attributes such as risk of breakage or hazardous substance classes.
