Kiefel invests in expanding its innovative strength: a new Customer Innovation Centre is established in Freilassing, accompanied by a strengthened management structure and successful market launches of new machine solutions.
Kiefel GmbH, a specialist in plastics, recycling and natural fibre processing, is focusing on targeted investments to strengthen its innovative power. The new Customer Innovation Centre Polymer (CIC) is being built in Freilassing and is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2025. The first customer projects are already taking place there.
The CIC offers state-of-the-art series machines for product sampling, tool testing and prototyping. The range of services is complemented by specialised laboratories that enable material analyses, layer thickness measurements and punching force measurements, among other things. „We have stood for technological excellence for 70 years - by investing in another CIC, we are creating a first-class development environment to bring innovations to market even faster,“ explains Matt Sieverding, CEO of Kiefel GmbH.
Strengthening the management level
Kiefel is also strengthening its management team with three new division managers, which are intended to further develop the company strategically:
- Sven Engelmann (Head of Technology): Responsible for the CIC and the technological development of the product portfolio
- Bengt Schmidt (Head of the Packaging division): Strategic development of the packaging division and expansion of the global sales organisation
- Dr Bernd Stein (Head of Engineering): Optimisation of development processes and machine solutions
Positive market response for new machine solutions
The machine solutions recently presented at the Packaging Dialogue Days 2024 are meeting with great demand, according to the Freilassing-based company. Particularly noteworthy is the successful installation of several NATUREFORMER KFT 90.1 machines at a French customer for the efficient production of natural fibre packaging. The new KTR 6.2 tilting machine for improved performance is also already being used by the first customers. These and other innovations will be presented at the K 2025 presented in Düsseldorf.
