Klingele display honoured with World Corrugated Award

The Klingele Paper & Packaging Group, manufacturer of corrugated base paper and corrugated board packaging, has won the World Corrugated Packaging Award for a sales display for its customer Zarelo.

The display for Zarelo, a supplier of firelighters, which has now been honoured, had already won first place in the „Display“ performance category of the Corrugated Board Innovation Award. „Golden Wave“ achieved. At the World Corrugated Award 2021, Klingele has now taken first place with the concept in the category „Best Design Innovation“. The requirements for packaging, especially in sales and logistics, are becoming increasingly demanding.

Against this background, the award ceremony in this category is intended to emphasise the growing importance of design innovations in the corrugated board industry. The aim is to recognise teams and companies that bring pioneering concepts to the market. In addition to the criteria of innovation and design, the suitability in practical use, cost efficiency and complexity of the production process also played a role in the selection of the winners.

Effective advertising and environmentally friendly

The eco-display for Zarelo scores points with its sales-promoting appearance as well as its environmental friendliness. High-quality flexographic printing and a top sign displaying the goods make the display an eye-catcher at the point of sale. An ingenious design opens up a Second level as a presentation area, which facilitates sales. Not only the display itself, but also the glued-on pallet feet are made of 100 per cent recyclable corrugated cardboard.

A Ready-made transport system with a corrugated cardboard pallet guide at the top and bottom also replaces the usual plastic strapping or stretch film. Once the items have been sold, the entire display can be disposed of in waste paper.

In 2019, the judges had already honoured Klingele once before, as the world's most environmentally friendly company in the corrugated cardboard industry. Klingele's consistently sustainable product and production strategy tipped the scales in favour of this award. It was not only the ecological product corrugated board that played a role, but also the implementation of numerous measures for energy-efficient and resource-saving production,
