Koch Robotersysteme takes over the RobotDestackingCentre from Aviro and adds a solution to its product portfolio for automated carton cutting processing for folding carton machines.
Koch Robotersysteme offers a wide range of different robot systems for many areas of production and is now expanding its portfolio with the RobotDestackingCentre. This is an innovative solution for the Automated processing of cardboard blanks in folder gluers. The system was originally developed by Aviro GmbH from Düsseldorf and has been successfully in continuous use at well-known European folding carton manufacturers since 2016. The discontinuation of Aviro's business operations was a good opportunity for Koch, to adopt this mature and proven solution and integrate it into its own portfolio.
System closes gap in production process
The Koch RobotDestackingCentre was designed to close the gap between the die-cutter and folder gluer in the production processIt takes the stacks of blanks from the pallet, straightens and turns them, and feeds them to the folder-gluer via the conveyor line. The system can process up to 165,000 blanks per hour in continuous operation, which usually increases the output of the gluing machines by 20 per cent.
The centrepiece of the solution is the Robust and versatile industrial robot IRB 6700 from ABB, which, with a load capacity of 300 kg, handles even heavy stacks of solid or corrugated cardboard with ease. The possible cardboard formats range from 200 x 200 mm to 500 x 700 mm, with stack heights of 250 to 400 mm, with or without dividers. The system therefore covers almost all standard cardboard packaging and stack formats.
Another strength of the system is the intuitive control system, which requires no programming knowledge. This means that the entire system configuration can be changed in just a few minutes and flexibly adapted to new orders.
„The RobotDestackingCentre is more than just an innovative addition to our portfolio: this solution offers great potential for future developments for us and our customers. I also think that it is very pleasing for existing users of the system to learn that this innovative and proven solution will be continued by Koch Robotersysteme.“ Ulli Koch, Managing Director of Koch Industrieanlagen GmbH
