Kuka appoints new CEO as of 1 July 2025

The Supervisory Board of Kuka AG has appointed Christoph Schell as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Christoph Schell is to become the new CEO of Kuka AG. The internationally experienced technology manager will bring extensive expertise from the fields of digitalisation, AI and high-tech industry to the future development of the robotics specialist.

The Supervisory Board of Kuka AG has appointed Christoph Schell (53) as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Schell will take over the position on 1 July 2025, succeeding Peter Mohnen, who is leaving the company at his own request after 13 years on the Executive Board, including six years as CEO.

In Schell, Kuka has brought on board an internationally renowned manager with extensive experience in the high-tech and digital sectors.

Careers at HP, Philips and Intel - focus on digitalisation and AI

Christoph Schell comes from Kirchheim unter Teck and has held senior management positions at HP, Philips and most recently Intel. As Chief Commercial Officer at Intel, he was responsible for sales, marketing and communication worldwide. He focussed on 3D printing, digital manufacturing, computing and artificial intelligence (AI) - key topics for the future that are also of crucial importance for the robotics and automation industry.

Already very familiar with Kuka

Schell has already been a member of the KUKA Supervisory Board and Chairman of the Strategy and Technology Committee since the beginning of 2023. Schell has lived in the USA for more than ten years and previously worked in Asia for many years. This gives him a deep understanding of the international markets that are important for Kuka.
