Herma has developed new standard adhesive materials in the clear-on-clear segment that ensure virtually invisible labels. They are insensitive to moisture and are therefore suitable for the food, beverage and cosmetics industries.
Not even recognising the label as such suggests good product quality to the consumer. And in order to enable brand manufacturers to make this subtle promise, labelling companies must be able to The most advanced clear-on-clear bonding materials. Herma offers new solutions for the PP films used in this process and has put an additional coating plant into operation at the massively expanded company headquarters in Filderstadt.
Two new qualities for the clear-on-clear segment
Herma is now expanding its standard range of PP adhesive materials with two qualities that look good and have excellent processing properties. This is ensured by the 62C adhesive specially developed for high transparency with its Resistance to the otherwise widespread whitening of the label edges after prolonged contact with water. Accordingly, the new adhesive materials are two no-label-look standards with the best properties.

Herma PP transparent tc (grade 885) is equipped with backing material (Herma PET 565) with a thickness of 30µm and Herma PP 50 transparent super tc (grade 886 with Herma PET 560) with backing material with a thickness of 23µm. They cover the majority of processing requirements and offer high-speed dispensing options and special punching reliability. Very good print quality can be achieved in all standard printing processes during label production itself.
Special label adhesive for transparent packaging
The quasi-invisible Pressure sensitive adhesive ensures a clear, unclouded view of the contents of transparent packaging. It is about Insensitive to moisture, soaps or oil and is therefore particularly suitable for product labelling in the food, beverage and cosmetics industries. The 62C also has a Robust resistance to light, heat and ageing. When labelling, it is characterised by advantageous flow properties combined with reliable adhesion.
