BOBST will be exhibiting together with the digital printing competence centre Mouvent at the world's largest labelling event, the Labelexpo Europe, will present a portfolio of leading innovations. Visitors to the event, which takes place from 24-27 September 2019 in Brussels, will be able to experience four fully digitalised production processes on a digital printing press with water-based inks, a World premiere UV-Flexo hybrid machine, as well as on two DigiFlexo printing presses and an inline flexo printing press.

„We have recently unveiled several truly ground-breaking innovations that will set new standards and ensure faster time to market, colour consistency and compliance for food packaging manufacturers and brand owners. It's really exciting to bring these latest innovations together in one place so visitors can see for themselves the difference these innovations make and what it could mean for their own businesses.“

The latest innovations pave the way for a world premiere

The latest innovations include Ink-on-Demand (IoD), Highly Automated Liquids (HAL) and DigiColorThe IoD ink application system replaces conventional ink trays with a single rubber tube that applies just 30 grams of ink. The IoD ink application system replaces conventional ink trays with a single rubber tube that feeds just 30 grams of ink into the printing unit.

The system works without ink trays and doctor blades and completes fully automatic cleaning of the printing unit in less than a minute. To complement the IoD system, HAL offers an offline ink mixing station for the production of Pantone colours from 14 basic colours. It contains only one pump, which performs a pipette-like action to measure the extremely small quantities of ink required.

DigiColor is the first „closed-loop“ inline colour system that enables digital colour adjustment to the Delta-E target values during the printing process, at any speed, on any substrate and with any machine operator. This represents a significant step towards complete colour digitisation.

These innovations have paved the way for a new Hybrid flexographic printing press with „Mouvent™ Digital Technology Inside“ which represents the best combination of digital and DigiFlexo printing and will be presented for the first time at Labelexpo. The hybrid machine offers extremely short set-up times for labels with finishing, unlimited flexibility and promises a fast return on investment.

It is the press with the most comprehensive digital automation on the labelling market and offers the highest print quality and productivity. It opens up a new era in the production of self-adhesive labels with completely new standards of productivity and profitability.

The BOBST M6 machine will be the star of the flexible packaging arena in Hall 11 (Stand 11A50). The M6 machine is a combination of the Inline UV Flexo, REVO Digital Flexo and the new revolutionary V-Flower printing unit and enables changeovers in one minute in a so-called „flying“ changeover without stopping the printing press and with a Machine operating time of up to 95%.

It is the most productive printing press for the economical production of short to medium print runs. The M6 is equipped with the fully automatic DigiMount™ flexo plate mounting system which has advanced electronics for greater speed and accuracy in panel mounting.

World-class machines deserve world-class service

Visitors to Labelexpo will also be able to find out about BOBST Services, which provides solutions for printing and converting companies to help them reduce downtime and environmental impact while optimising productivity and quality.

For example, the Helpline Plus service enables customers to contact BOBST experts immediately as soon as the need arises. This means that 80 % of all technical problems are resolved remotely within two hours.

Helpline Plus AR (augmented reality) and smart headset The BOBST digital headsets are another step up and allow customers to wear a special digital headset so that the BOBST technician can practically see through the eyes of the customer's machine operator and give them precise instructions on what to do.

„This really is a complete package. The new solutions on show at Labelexpo will set completely new standards, offering packaging and branded goods manufacturers faster time to market, guaranteed colour consistency and compliance for food packaging. At BOBST, we never stop innovating and this year's event will clearly emphasise this philosophy. We look forward to welcoming you all to Brussels!“
