Labelexpo Global Series, the platform for the label and packaging printing industry for over 45 years, has announced a comprehensive reorganisation. From 2026, the trade fair will operate under the name LOUPE and expand its focus to include labels, flexible packaging and folding cartons.
With yesterday's launch of the Labelexpo Europe 2025 in Barcelona the Informa Group presented the new LOUPE brand identity. The rebranding is intended to reflect the development of the industry, in which label printing, flexible packaging and folding cartons are increasingly coming together under one technological umbrella. The first trade fair under the new name will take place in the USA in 2026.
The organisers emphasise that LOUPE symbolises the shift towards a holistic approach to packaging printing. While Labelexpo started in 1980 with a clear focus on narrow web and self-adhesive labels, the portfolio now includes a wide range of products and technologies. As many as 40 per cent of visitors to Labelexpo Europe 2023 were interested in flexible packaging and 25 per cent in folding cartons. In 2025, more than a quarter of exhibitors will also be showing Products across the entire packaging range away.
New trademark for the industry
The new brand name is inspired by the indispensable magnifying glass used in print shops - a tool for precision, attention to detail and quality. At the same time, LOUPE is an acronym for „Labels & OUter Packaging Embellishment“ and emphasises the extended claim. This is intended to appeal to label manufacturers as well as companies that are expanding into neighbouring packaging segments.
Part of the Informa Group
Since 2023, the Labelexpo Global Series has been part of the Informa Group, a global organiser of B2B trade fairs with over 800 brands. This integration could also enable cross-industry synergies with sectors such as pharmaceuticals, nutrition and cosmetics to be utilised in the future.
