Leibinger has introduced a solution to the problem of high humidity in production environments. The new air dryer feature is designed to ensure reliable labelling at all times.
Extreme environmental conditions often occur in many sectors, such as the beverage, food and packaging industries. These can affect the processing and adhesion properties of inks. LEIBINGER has therefore analysed this challenge together with its customers and developed an efficient solution.
The new air dryer prevents condensation on the print head and stabilises the viscosity and drying time of the ink. This leads to greater adhesion and faster drying, which ensures smooth operation.
Challenges in warm and humid production environments
The air dryer from LEIBINGER works by drawing in the humid ambient air, extracting the moisture from it and feeding the dry air into the print head. This creates a dry environment in the print head, which contrasts with the humid production environment.
This technology ensures that continuous inkjet printers (CIJ) work reliably even under extreme climatic conditions. „The air dryer ensures that CIJ printers always deliver optimum printing results with high print adhesion,“ explains Alexander Deuchert, Head of Product Management at LEIBINGER.
Many possible applications
The air dryer from LEIBINGER is particularly advantageous in production environments with high humidity and temperatures. Examples include food production, where products are pre-cooked and bottled, or the printing of cables in humid areas. In such cases, the new technology from LEIBINGER can ensure more efficient labelling.
