
Sealed Air is the first manufacturer of flexible packaging to have its Sealappeal product range certified as vegan-compliant by Cryovac. The label was awarded by The Vegan Society and confirms that the company replaces all animal-based ingredients in its food packaging with animal-free fats and hydrocarbon waxes.

In line with the certification of its Cryovac-branded Sealappeal products, the company is now working with the Vegan Society to To obtain the Vegan Trademark for its Cryovac Darfresh brand vacuum skin packaging products. In addition, the company will work with The Vegan Society to develop a new Develop logo, which will help retailers to communicate to consumers that both the product and the packaging are vegan compliant with regard to EU Regulation (EC) 178/2002, Article 16 are.
The Sealappeal range from the Cryovac brand offers Hochbarrier films for alternative proteins and offers a product shelf life of up to 12 months at room temperature, to minimise waste and improve the sustainability of the products. The mono-PET material is also recyclable and can be reused in PET recycling streams.
