Profol GmbH, a supplier of cast polypropylene films, has now developed various CPP solutions for laminates with BOPP (biaxially orientated PP) in reverse printing. The company has already been honoured with the prestigious German Sustainability Award 2020 (DNP) in the special category of environmentally friendly product packaging ideas for its CPPeel mono-material laminate for sealing food containers.
Due to the ever-increasing demand for recyclable single-material packaging the company, based in Halfing, Upper Bavaria, has invested heavily in research and developed various CPP solutions, including pouches with and without spouts, so-called flow packs, lidding films for FFS trays and sealing blanks.
The result is a product range of high-quality, recyclable packaging solutions for e.g. mozzarella, yoghurt, hygiene products, soaps, detergents, cheese and sausage or animal feed. Other products are currently in development and will soon be ready for series production.
„Together with our partners, we have been able to demonstrate in numerous trials with different machine manufacturers for various filling goods that our film can be processed without any loss of productivity,“ explains Dr Philipp Schieferdecker, Managing Director Profol GmbH.
The individual films can be provided with features for sterilisation, pasteurisation, anti-fog, peelable, tight-sealing and low-sealing on request. All new packaging solutions from Profol are available for Almost or 100 per cent recyclable and confirmed by the dual system.

If polypropylene cups have tiny aluminium residues on the edges, they must be removed from the recycling process. If yoghurt pots are made exclusively from polypropylene, this solution is not suitable. 100 per cent recyclable and fulfils all requirements of food legislation. According to the company, almost 75 % less CO2 is used for the production of CPPeel compared to aluminium blanks. [/infotext]
