Flexible packaging is booming. However, depending on the fill level, the packaging has special handling requirements. J. Schmalz GmbH now has a specially customised bellows suction pad in its portfolio.
To ensure safe and fast handling even with thin-walled film bags despite the formation of creases, the J. Schmalz GmbH The new PSPF bellows suction pad uses two materials with very different properties: The sealing lip is particularly soft and adaptable, while the bellows is reinforced. Both components are firmly connected to each other and can therefore seal optimally and at the same time follow the dynamics of particularly fast packaging processes. This enables the gripping of liquid, solid or powder-filled bags and packaging with delta robots, in case packers and pick & place applications - even when the fill level is low.
The large shaft diameter allows a high volume flow and the 3.5 folds of the bellows compensate for height differences. This means a high holding force and therefore - in combination with the sealing lip - a secure hold during fast cycles. The new PSPF bellows suction pad is made of FDA-compliant silicone and is suitable for contact with food. It is available with diameters of 33, 43 and 53 millimetres.
