The trend towards greater sustainability has now even reached the luxury brand Breitling. A new watch box is made from 100% recycled PET bottles.
One minute it's a bottle on your neck, the next it's protecting your luxury watch on your wrist. Breitling has presented a foldable, reusable watch box. It is made entirely from recycled plastic bottles.
Watch box is reusable
The box is made from materials that can be recycled and reused in future projects. From the fabric to the press studs used to open it, the new watch box is made from 100 % recycled PET bottles.

In accordance with the cradle-to-cradle principle, the box can be recycled in a special facility as soon as it is no longer needed, where it is returned to the rPET cycle. The new Breitling watch boxes will be available from the beginning of 2021.
Packaging is also being reduced in the luxury segment
Even before introducing the new watch box, Breitling had been looking for ways to reduce the environmental impact of its packaging. The brand created an alternative box that was about half the size of the industry standard - and that was just the beginning.
The next big step followed with the introduction of the new watch box, which itself is about half the size of Breitling's current box. At the same time, Breitling reduced the number of components used in its packaging from an average of 12 to just three: the box, the cushion and the quick-start guide.
