How do automation solutions with safety and security support and help shape the digital transformation in production? Pilz GmbH & Co. KG, Ostfildern, will be premiering a product at its sps stand.
The digital Myzel Lifecycle Platform for managing machines and personnel across the entire lifecycle: With its Myzel Lifecycle Platform, the automation company is offering a new software-as-a-service offering in a first expansion stage that supports machine manufacturers and operators in complying with legislation and safety requirements across the entire lifecycle.
For the first time, it combines the management of machines and personnel in one digital platform. Myzel creates a connection between the assets (employees, machines, components) and associated artefacts, such as instructions, health and safety guidelines or training. The need for action in terms of safety, security and compliance can be seen at a glance on the dashboard. In addition, bookable workflows from safety validation to the management of access authorisations simplify implementation.
As part of a successful transformation, data communication should be able to implement both safety and standard communication. Pilz is once again expanding its IO-Link safety portfolio and is presenting the first certified IO-Link safety master for decentralised communication at the SPS. It extends the functions of a conventional IO-Link master with the option of safe communication in the area of functional safety. This means that safety gate systems can now be controlled live and safely via IO-Link Safety. Thanks to the IO-Link communication protocol, live data communication is now possible with the PITgatebox IOLS operating unit, for example on the door status, and data flows directly into the system control.
