Memjet today announces a series of enhancements to its second printing technology, DuraLink. The enhancements are based on feedback from current and future OEM partners. DuraLink XL offers a more robust printhead with four times longer life and an expanded colour gamut. These enhancements solidify DuraLink's position as a key printing technology that enables the rapid and cost-effective development of future solutions for commercial, packaging and industrial printing.
„Since its launch, dozens of OEM partners from various print markets have been working with the DuraLink technology familiarised,“ said Eric Owen, General Manager at Memjet. „As these partners enter the lengthy development process, we receive valuable feedback - not only on how DuraLink fulfils their requirements, but more importantly, how we are able to use the technology. even better can make. The current improvements demonstrate how Memjet is working with its OEM partners to ensure that its print technology - and the solutions it creates - has the features, functionality and growth potential it needs to meet the demands of print markets today and in the future.“
Business opportunities in the fast-growing packaging market
„Almost 60 per cent of all OEM partners use DuraLink for packaging. In order to fulfil the requirements of this large customer base, Memjet new colours introduced and the Service life of the DuraLink technology.“

DuraLink can now be used with the Additional colours orange, green and violet be driven. OEM partners now have seven colours to choose from. Thanks to the extended colour space they can now develop solutions that make it possible for print service providers, Reproduce brand colours precisely and more realistic images.
This is particularly important for the fast-growing food, fashion and packaged goods markets.

The improved DuraLink technology also makes it easier to Printing on corrugated board. When printing on corrugated cardboard, it is often difficult to place the substrate evenly under the print head. The resulting uneven surface tends to slip during printing. When guiding the material, the corrugated cardboard can hit the print head and damage it.
To reduce the likelihood of the print head and substrate touching each other, the DuraLink print head can now be positioned up to three millimetres above the corrugated board. In the event that contact does occur, the print head is equipped with a specially developed, hardened Silicon surface equipped.
This makes it extremely impact-resistant and robust and prevents damage to the nozzle plate as far as possible. Thanks to the innovative design, it is virtually impossible for the substrate to ever come into contact with the print head.
Longer-lasting print heads
OEM partners are supported in all markets by the longer service life of the DuraLink printheads benefit. Previously, the DuraLink print head was designed for a service life of 50 litres. The improved DuraLink XL print head lasts four times as long, which means an average of 200 litres.
The longer service life of the print heads goes hand in hand longer operating time and one higher efficiency for the print service provider. Unplanned downtime is practically a thing of the past. Print service providers can schedule the replacement of print heads to coincide with normal maintenance or with the replacement of paper rolls.
The new functions are available all DuraLink customers regardless of which phase a customer is at in the development process.
„Memjet is an innovator in inkjet printing and is constantly striving to improve its products. And we make sure that all customers have access to these innovations,“ emphasises Eric Owen. „Regardless of whether a customer has already finalised their system or is still developing it, they can integrate and use the new features of DuraLink.“
