At Fachpack in Nuremberg, Mettler-Toledo will be presenting new systems for detecting foreign bodies, checking weights and inspecting labels. The aim is to provide manufacturers in the food and pharmaceutical industries with tools for complying with legal requirements, reducing waste and increasing line efficiency.

At the trade fair, the company will be showcasing the X12 X-ray inspection system and the CM combi system, among other products. The latter integrates checkweighing and metal detection technology in a compact, space-saving unit. This allows manufacturers to control product weight while recognising and removing ferrous and non-ferrous metals and stainless steel from the production line.

A common user interface enables smooth item changeovers and real-time monitoring to maintain consistently high line performance. With configurable options for both technologies, the CM system provides the necessary Flexibility for numerous applications in food and pharmaceutical production.

The X12 x-ray inspection system reliably detects a wide range of foreign bodies, including metal, glass, stones, calcareous bones and high-density plastics, in a wide variety of packaged foods. This High-performance X-ray inspection system for single-track applications is equipped with a HiGain detector as standard, which produces sharper images for outstanding detection performance.

Label inspection also plays a key role in reducing risks, especially against the backdrop of increasingly strict labelling regulations in global markets. The visual inspection systems from Mettler-Toledo recognise label defects and verify printed data. In this way, they support traceability and help to avoid labelling and marking errors that can result in recalls or rejected deliveries.

Especially for food manufacturers, Mettler-Toledo also presents its ProdX data management software, which sets new standards in the performance of product inspection technologies with advanced data management functions. The ProdX software saves time and money by Monitoring, reporting and reconciliation of all product inspection activities are automated in real time. The securely stored data can facilitate compliance with food safety regulations and thus support manufacturers in expanding their market. Due diligence is taken to a new level to protect the brand even more effectively. By analysing the data, opportunities for improvement on the production line can be identified, helping to increase productivity and contain rising costs.

„Fachpack is a great opportunity for us to present the full breadth of our product inspection technologies. Our first consideration is always what the customer's application looks like in detail: We analyse the specific requirements of each production line and individual product to identify the best inspection solutions for effective foreign body detection, quality assurance and weight and label control. Once installed, our inspection solutions help manufacturers not only achieve their quality assurance goals, but also reduce waste, protect profit margins, improve compliance and optimise productivity.“
