Milliken is expanding its portfolio of solutions for PP recyclers with Deltaflow viscosity modifiers, creating additional opportunities to drive the circular economy.
Milliken & Company, a manufacturer of additives and colourants for polymers, has introduced DeltaFlow viscosity modifiers aimed specifically at polypropylene (PP) recyclers. Recyclers can use the modifiers, which are available as concentrates in solid form, to optimise the flow behaviour of recycled polypropylene (rPP) for extrusion and injection moulding processes.
Milliken offers the modifiers as free-flowing granules that can be handled and fed easily and dust-free. With DeltaFlow Optimised plastics can be processed at lower temperatures, which enables shorter cycle times during injection moulding. They increase productivity and improve processability.
Increase proportion of recycled PP
Brand owners also benefit: In many end applications, the viscosity modifiers facilitate the substitution of PP virgin material with rPP. In this way the proportion of rPP in the products can be increased and contributes to the realisation of ambitious sustainability goals.
The new concentrates are a Addition to the existing DeltaMax performance modifiers from Milliken for polypropylenes, which recyclers and processors can use to improve the physical properties and flow behaviour of their rPP formulations and blends on the machine side.
Deltaflow is produced in Germany
Milliken currently produces the modifiers in Germany and supplies them in concentrations of 2, 5 and 10 per cent to suit different application and machine requirements.
„Milliken & Company will continue to support the plastics recycling industry with polymer additives that allow the recycled content to be increased by improving the properties of the recycled polypropylene itself.“ Tugce Asici-van Houselt, Sales Manager, Plastic Additives for Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA)
