The packaging printing segment of the traditional US brand known as „Kodak Flexcel“ will now operate under the name Miraclon. Kodak has sold its „Flexographic Packaging Division“ to the private equity company Montagu, which has formed Miraclon from it.
The new company has a global presence and, according to its own information, employs more than 300 people. Manufacturing companies are located in the USA and Japan. There are branches all over the world, including in Brussels. Development departments exist in the USA, Canada and Israel.
Flexo printing to become premium packaging printing
Miraclone will focus exclusively on the development, production and sale of Kodak Flexcel solutions. The new company's top product is the proven Kodak Flexcel NX system out. The aim of the company's activities is to further strengthen its position in the global market amid the transformation of flexographic printing into a premium packaging printing process.
The CEO of Miraclon is Chris Payne. Since January 2015, he has already headed the Flexographic Packaging Division from Kodak. He emphasises: „Customers will be dealing with the same products, the same people and the same trusted Kodak product brand that they have relied on to support their own business growth.“
