Omron is helping companies to deploy mobile robots with new software. The company has announced the market launch of the new Fleet Operations Workspace (Flow) Core 2.1 software. The robots can be used to relieve employees and compensate for a shortage of skilled labour.
This is achieved through continuous data analyses, simulation functions and the integrated control of different robot types. Companies can use mobile robots to automate their intralogistics safely and efficiently. In addition, there is a growing demand for robots that can handle different payloads and sizes, from material transport to processing and product dispatch. However, companies often face difficulties, find experienced experts who are able to check the functionality of a system before implementation on the factory floor.

Simple system improvement
The Flow Core 2.1 software from Omron ensures greater installation efficiency and shows possible difficulties even before the actual introduction of mobile robots. Thanks to a fleet simulation function, commissioning can be carried out quickly. It also enables the integrated control of different mobile robot types with different payloads, eliminating the complex task of having to create different systems.
After system installation, the new software offers advantages such as the Simple collection of journey data and identification of bottlenecks. This makes it possible to find out what impact and improvements the system has had since installation and how driving efficiency has been increased. Users can reduce the time it takes to adapt and check mobile robots and immediately see how transport automation optimises factory processes and facilitates the transition to smart manufacturing. By updating the existing software to Flow Core 2.1, these functions can also be utilised with existing mobile robots.
„Omron drives Innovations in production continuously. The knowledge gained in our own factories and from our customers flows into the joint development of our mobile robots and our fleet management software. We will continue to contribute to innovation in manufacturing in the future by Free people from monotonous, monotonous and physically demanding work, so that they can devote themselves to more important tasks.“
