At LogiMAT, Ceilix will be exhibiting the world's first omnidirectional overhead crane that can be moved freely in all directions without spatial restrictions.

The Euskirchen-based company CeiliX is presenting the InfinityCrane to a wide audience of experts for the first time in Stuttgart. The patented modular overhead crane system already allows the crane to be used for areas and functions that could not be covered by previous cranes. In the near future, CeiliX intends to Enable robots to travel freely on the ceiling and thus bring more efficiency, flexibility and space savings to production and logistics.

CeiliX technology enables omnidirectional, free travelling on the ceiling. The first product is the InfinityCrane, which can be moved completely freely and without spatial restrictions. can be moved in all directions - forwards, backwards, sideways or diagonally. Even obstacles such as pillars in the room are no longer a problem. The basis for the CeiliX technology is a modular track system mounted on the ceiling. This can be installed quickly, flexibly adapted to any room according to the modular principle and easily expanded as requirements increase. Several InfinityCranes can be in the same room at the same time can be used without getting in each other's way. This makes new functions possible, such as rotating objects in the air.

Significantly save space

However, CeiliX technology can do much more than just crane applications. Equipped with various tools such as robotic arms, hoists and sensors, the ceiling vehicles are take over tasks that previously required separate machines or manual labour. In many cases, savings of 30 to 50 per cent on storage or production space are possible, as transport routes are moved from the floor to the ceiling can. This not only increases efficiency, but also enhances safety for everyone involved.

„Our goal is clear: a world in which production and logistics are no longer confined to the floor. By opening up the ceiling as a new dimension for free movement, we are revolutionising processes in factories, warehouses and companies - and thus creating an unprecedented level of efficiency, flexibility and added value.“

Mathias Entenmann, Co-founder and CEO of CeiliX

From space travel to industry

The roots of CeiliX technology lie in space research: developed to enable astronauts to train under realistically simulated gravity conditions, the technology quickly found its way into industry. Since 2024, the world's first prototype in the CeiliX showroom in Euskirchen in use.
