Mondi is expanding its range of high barrier papers with the launch of FunctionalBarrier Paper Ultimate, a paper-based solution to meet growing demand.
Following the previously announced investment of €16 million in state-of-the-art technology at its plant in Solec (Poland), Mondi is increasing production of FunctionalBarrier Paper Ultimate, a high barrier paper that Offers protection against oxygen, water vapour and grease - with an oxygen transmission rate (OTR) of less than 0.5 cm3/m2 per day and a water vapour transmission rate (WVTR) of less than 0.5 g/m2 per day. According to Mondi's internal product analyses, this solution, compared to conventional multilayer materials based on plastic or aluminium, causes significantly lower CO2-emissions over the entire life cycle.
