
Mondi is investing over 16 million euros in its plant in Krapkowice, Poland, to increase production of its Mailerbag range. The investment is in response to demand from the growing e-commerce industry for sustainable packaging.
Mondi's mailer bags are lightweight, durable, tear and puncture resistant and can be transported cost-effectively as they save space and weight. Available in various sizes, the bags are easy to open and close and can be are therefore ideal for delivery and returns. The excellent printability also ensures that brands can easily communicate their core messages to consumers.
The plant in Krapkowice specialises in the production of Mondi mailer bags and, with its location in Poland, is ideally situated to serve the whole of Europe. This investment will more than double the production capacity for mailer bags in Poland in 2023 and a new production line.
Mondi has a broad eCommerce offering in the corrugated board and flexible packaging divisions, which also includes the MailerBag solution. The mailer bags are made from Mondi's kraft paper, which in turn Made in-house from responsibly sourced fibres This is an advantage of the Group's integrated value chain. The bags are also designed in such a way that they can be recycled in conventional paper recycling streams throughout Europe, which makes them the ideal alternative to plastic mailing bags.
