This autumn, the global packaging and paper company Mondi will be presenting numerous innovations on current packaging trends and the increasing demand for sustainable solutions.
The company will be presenting many of its top products at FachPack 2018, as well as its latest solutions for e-commerce packaging, convenience products, high-quality design and other trends. The sustainability of raw materials, production processes and products is also an integral part of all business areas.
The new packaging laminate BarrierPack Recyclable reduces plastic waste from packaging through recycling. This composite plastic film for pre-made bags and FFS rollstock can be fully recycled without compromising on its proven quality and functionality. BarrierPack Recyclable won the 2018 Plastics Recycling Europe Award in the category „Best technological innovation in plastics recycling“.
An improved version of its perFORMing brand will also be launched on the market. This is a natural brown, mouldable paper for thermoforming trays for packaging foods such as cheese, meat or salmon. perFORMing combines two Mondi materials: paper Advantage Formable and a new barrier coating developed by Mondi in an innovative, patented thermoformable packaging solution that offers outstanding properties and optimum formability. Compared to other thermoforming trays, perFORMing requires up to 70 per cent less plastic and the paper is natural brown and not coloured brown.
The improved Splashbag from Mondi will be another highlight. This water-repellent bonded Valve bag sack is ideal for Dry, powdery materials. The sack can withstand direct rain for up to six hours and can be stored in humid environments for up to five days without the contents being damaged by moisture. This represents an improvement of 50 per cent and sets a new industry standard for paper sacks.

The Vino Box® Sprint was especially for wine merchants developed. This corrugated cardboard box has an integrated pop-up compartment. This allows up to six bottles to be packed quickly and shipped safely. Compared to previous versions of this packaging, the carton with the compartment is now in one piece delivered.
The MailerBAG is a Envelope made of paper for online tradingwhich reused and recycled can be returned. Thanks to the double-sided adhesive tape with a protective film on the flap, end consumers can easily return unwanted items in the same envelope.
